About The Event
Join us for this meaningful and contemplative time of reflection at Hawkwell Baptist Church on Wednesday 2nd April, 8:00pm - 9:00pm.
All are welcome to attend this peaceful service as we pause together during Holy Week.
Tenebrae is an ancient and reflective service traditionally held during Holy Week. The word Tenebrae means “darkness” or “shadows,” and throughout the service candles are gradually extinguished, symbolising the deepening darkness surrounding the death of Jesus.
Through readings, moments of reflection, and the diminishing light, the service invites us to quietly contemplate the events leading to the crucifixion and the depth of Christ’s sacrifice.
